Unique Wedding Illustrations
Leela’s primary service is live wedding illustration, a delightful and unique way to capture the essence of your special day. She attends weddings and events to create live portraits of your guests, offering them a memorable and personalized memento. These guest portraits are not only thoughtful and fun but also serve as a unique gift that helps your loved ones remember your wedding day fondly.
On the day of your wedding, Leela takes quick photos of your guests, allowing them to continue enjoying the celebration while she works on multiple portraits simultaneously. This method ensures that she can produce about eight guest portraits per hour. For larger weddings, Leela completes as many portraits as possible on-site and finishes the rest in her home studio using the photos taken during the event.
Artistic Process and Personal Touch
Leela uses water colours and pen on professional water colour paper, typically cut to A6 size (postcard size). To protect the finished portraits, she places them in cellophane sleeves and often includes personalized backing cards or cute stickers, adding an extra touch of care and attention.
In her own words, Leela says, “I’ve found that live illustration is a great talking point at a wedding or an event. Guests love to show each other their portraits, and many portraits are framed after the wedding, serving as a lasting reminder of the day.”
